Travel Tips in Bali

This Travel Tips might be useful wether you are visiting Bali or other destionations

Pickpockets can completely ruin a trip to a foreign country if you aren’t prepared. When you lose your identification, you could even get stuck in that country until everything gets sorted out.

To make the process as easy as possible, you should keep photocopies of your credit cards, your passport, and any other forms of identification. Keep copies at your hotel, and leave separate copies with somebody at home. Even if you lose everything, your friend can fax you the information you need. It’s also a good idea to prepare a list of emergency numbers and addresses before your trip. Find out where your country’s foreign embassy is, and write down the local police station’s number.

Visas :
Check Indonesian Embassies worldwide for specific visa information, as citizens of many countries are provided free visas valid for a maximum of 60 days upon arrival at certain gateways. All travelers to the country must have a passport valid for at least six months after arrival and airline tickets for onward travel

Customs :
Adults may each bring a maximum of two liters of alcoholic beverages, 200 cigarettes, 50 cigars or 100 grams of tobacco into the country. Prohibited are: narcotics, arms and ammunitions, TVs, radios and cassette recorders, pornography, fresh fruit, movie films, videos and VCDs. Electronic equipment and computers must be declared and taken out of the country upon departure.

Business Hours :
Generally, business hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the office is open until
noon on Saturday. Banking hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Shops and restaurants in large tourist destinations are open seven days a week.

Measurements, Electricity & Temperature :
Indonesia uses the metric system. Most hotels use 220 volts, 50 cycles and round, two-pronged plugs. There are two climates, wet and dry, varying by region, but typically the heaviest rainfalls are in December and January. Temperatures average 21-33 degrees Celsius (70-90 degrees Fahrenheit).
